Vostro 1700 Gutsy Gibbon working xorg.conf (nvidia acceleration)

Working xorg.conf



Gutsy Gibbon and the proprietary nvidia drivers don't play nicely if you wish to use different modes than the 1920x1200 native resolution. I managed to fix it using the nvidia-xconfig tool



Attached is my /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

I am with avostro 1700 and it s doesn t works. My laptop screen is not found and it works with the restricted nvidia only on the external screen

Did you try installing the proprietary drivers using envy?:
